I just need to say that I can't believe ufg is allowing people to boost their karts n mods up to top mod and karts. I have to tell you that this is ridiculously frustrating. As well as myself I know over 10 creators that are on my friends list that put hrs upon hrs into the detail and perfection in their karts it's just heartbreaking to see the crap that is up there on a daily bases. This is a big problem that has to be fixed asap this is a slap in the face to all the mod and kart makers out there that actually put time and effort into there creations. There is a lot of talented people out there that will never have a chance of gettin to top mod or kart because of these boosters being on top should be a privilege to the people that actually deserve and earned it not just someone that puts 10 random stickers a couple of spikes goes n demands people 2 download n 5 star those are the people this game needs to flush out. Just feel anyone who understands where I'm com ing from we need to stop this it's destroying this game

It is truly amazing how similar the community issues are for ModNation Racers as they are for the Forza Motorsport community and you can expect that if GT 5 has leaderboards for livery downloads, etc that it will have the same problem. Any time there are leaderboards to be conquered, people will break the system.
In Forza, everyone in the 10 top ranked slots get down-voted by slews of people to make room for a newly published paint that everyone then rates through the roof so it gets maximum publicity right out of the gate.
One way to keep this from happening is to have tons of leaderboards for different criteria (which computers cannot detect because this is subjective art we are talking about). We would need everything to be judged by humans. This could work to a degree but it would simply be too much to manage realistically.
The other thought of mine is to have a cap on creations votes PROCESSED per day. What I mean by processed is that anything can receive as many votes as it is given, but only X number are processed through the system and displayed per day (or time period), making a pool of ratings that trinkle down over time. Its not flawless, but it would slow down spamming ratings. There could also be logic involving ratios too. Highly rated creations that get a bunch of down-votes in a row could be ignored or only half weighed because this is a sign of community spam attacking. It could go for low creations getting a sudden outlying burst of high votes.
For many content creators, the number one goal is recognition for work performed. Many people are honorable about how this recognition is achieved and I can say with much joy that this community at MNRHQ is full of these types. Sadly, some players will attempt to snatch their recognition by cheating, bribing and other means for their 15 minutes of fame.

Sounds like you can never stop people from being haters people will always down rate your stuff just cause they can't do what other people do With making karts mods or tracks. I just think it's a shame that Any Joe blow can get a bunch of people together race the he'll out of one car and mod and boom the next day it's on top karts or mods. No offense to the people that have had karts on top kart but I have seen maybe 5 karts that actually deserved to be up there. It's just very frustrating when I put hrs upon hrs into creating very detailed karts and I have to sit around mod spot for hrs to try and show it off and maybe get a couple of Dan. Here u got these people boosting the most plain cars that they should be embarassed about.and here they boost a car that they put no time into and they getting over 1000 den in a day I don't get it. I don't look at top mod mod for xp and downloads I look at it as people getting there stuff out there to be known. I talk to a lot of people daily about this problem and they all say the same thing. Modnation is going to be ruined by this boosting nonsense it gives no one a chance of getting up there legit. Just starting to feel like this games nothing but a joke and were is this patch starting to think that's bs 2 one guy I know boosts on the regular is djdouch649 him and his whole 649 crew will sit in mod spot and brag on how they boost ufg needs to put an end to this asap

I agree something needs to be done, although I'm pretty sure it's Sony who has control over what happens to people's accounts and not UFG entirely which might explain why so little is done. I'm sure UFG want their game to be continued to be played and enjoyed by everyone so they would do something? I don't know my logic may be flawed, but it seems that way to me. I heard the most anyone receives is a 3 day ban from the servers, clearly this ban isn't strong enough, but how can we get our voices heard by Sony when the cheaters still bring them revenue?
It's unfortunate that in online gaming is that any system that is stats driven where the user has the ability to directly effect their own stats in an easy way (in this case racing a 2 second track over and over) will game the system in order to cheat.
It sucks that the world has cheaters, but there are so many in so many communities (not just online) it's sometimes impossible to deal with them without making the system so restrictive that even normal people would still have difficulty.
I think the whole top mod thing is a bit restrictive anyway, since it's the top 3 out of thousands of creations that are made every week, by the laws of math the majority of us (even those of us who put in hours of work) will never have a chance to see those elite spots.
